I am definitely not feeling this cold and damp weather we are having. When I did step out of the house today, I’m sure glad I had my rain boots on. My trek for lunch today wasn’t too far, and I suppose it was well worth it. I got a quesadilla for lunch from my favorite burrito place, and I didn’t get too wet walking there. Wool socks are also my best friend this winter, and they have kept my feet warm and toasty here in SF.
My iPad arrived yesterday, and I guess now it’s my new toy. I still need to use my laptop to use Hulu which is lame though. It’s interesting that the iPad only allows you to use Hulu Plus. But no thanks, I like to watch my shows for free thank you very much. Now, I am on the search for a case for my new mini friend. I am leaning toward a case from Belkin right now, and was told that there cases are good and fairly cheap. My mini friend needs protection that is for sure.
Well as my fingers start to get pruney and cold, I will end this ramble with a quote I saw the other day.
Shoes are boring. Wear sneakers.
I was walking by a neighborhood church the other day, and saw this posted outside:
Faith in God Changes Everything.
I had brunch today with a friend today, and finally got to catch up a bit. The place we went to was cute inside, but we were a bit lost. As we walked into the restaurant, we got greeted, and were told to wait a bit. There were a few tables open, so we were confused on whether we were supposed to just sit down or not. After a minute or two, we asked again, and were told to sit ourselves. We then figured out that we had to order at the counter, and that there was no official waiter/waitress. The food wasn’t too bad, and the presentation was quite lovely, but I wish that the food was a bit hotter. Our drinks were excellent, although the coffee wasn’t super hot. I guess I am the type of person that likes my drinks, and food served hot. If the drink is supposed to be hot, I really do not want it lukewarm. And the same goes for the food. But, all in all, it was nice to be out and about. After brunch, I had another snack, and went out for a run. I need to get back into shape, because wearing yoga pants all the time is probably not a good thing.
I almost got fooled today when I was online. But Ha! Not this time, Mr. Hacker. I randomly got a message on Facebook today asking me for money, and I was a bit confused. I was not aware that my friends mom’s account got hacked, so I actually listened to this person typing to me. Many things were weird, and I went with my gut feeling, that this person was no way in hell my friends mom. I can be quite the sucker though, so I have to be more careful. My email got hacked a couple of weeks ago, and now this, ah! What happened to privacy? There really is nowhere to be safe online anymore.
Nothing else too exciting has been happening lately, though now that July is here, things may change. My good friend will be visiting me soon, and then the craziness shall commence. We need to relive our Beijing days, and all the fun-ness that came a long with our study abroad adventures. Time really does fly when you are having fun.
I am glad that the Giants finally broke their 6 day losing streak. The guys looked pretty down when they were sitting around in the bullpen. Well, this is a new month, so that means it’s time to start a winning streak! The A’s have been playing insanely good, and I had so much fun watching them beat the Cardinals up.
I need to get back to yoga, because lately I have not been calm nor relaxed.
So today on The Chew, they showed photos on the the latest craze in Japan. Sushi Cats! Japanese really do love their cats, and it seems as if their cats are pretty well behaved. After looking at some photos online, now I really wish I had a cat.
It’s Thursday. Time for some cuteness I say!
The wind never seems to go away. My allergies were super bad this past weekend, and I did not feel too good at all. I need to workout more so that I can fight off the pollen. Yes, sneezing all day is definitely no fun at all.
I just started to watch a new show on BBC called “Orphan Black.” My dad told me about this show awhile back, but I wasn’t really paying attention at the time. But, now that many shows are coming to an end till the fall, there really is not much to watch on tv. I am thankful that it is baseball season, because otherwise I’d be totally bored in the evenings. Other than baseball though, I do enjoy watching tv after dinner. Warehouse 13 is back on, which is great. And I am also enjoying watching Doctor Who. Orphan Black is kind of a dark show, with a lot going on. After I watched the first episode, my mind was pretty much blown away. Many tv shows are light, and you can just plop yourself in front of the tube, and just relax and pass out. And then there are the shows that keep you wide awake, and wanting more. Orphan Black is definitely one of those shows. Okay, I’ve only watched 2 episodes so far, but I got to admit that I am already hooked. The idea of clones always seems to fascinate me somehow, and also shows that have mystery and intrigue are always interesting too. I am excited to see where this show goes, and to see what happens to the main character. BBC has some good shows, and it’s too bad that most of them are hard to watch for free.
Well, the A’s won yesterday. A.J. Griffin did an awesome job last night, and only allowed the Rangers to score one run. I hope Cespedes is okay, because supposedly he left the game last night because of a stomach illness. After he hit that home run last night, he did look rather pale. My man Norris is doing pretty good, and it’s nice to see him in the line up. It really is too early in the season to count the A’s out, and I think they still have a shot at winning their division.
I rarely played games on my iPhone, but now that I have an Android phone, I am constantly wanting to dl new games. Lately, I have been playing Grumpy Bears, and find the game quite cute and addictive at the same time. The game is free, and there aren’t too many pop-up ads in between levels which is nice. I am impressed with the graphics, and the game is also very responsive to the touch screen. You don’t have to spend any money to power up really, instead you can buy more weapons, but just using the money you earn by crushing bears. There are so many weapon options which I love, and you can also buy items to protect your life as well. This game does not require a whole lot of skill, and it is just plain fun. Of course just like any other game, it can suck up your battery life, so that is something to be aware of.
Well the SF Giants are in Arizona for a few days, and I am hoping that they get a win this week. I still can’t believe that we got sweeped by the Padres. Although, I have to admit that the Padres have been playing pretty good lately. That one catch yesterday was just amazing, and I gotta give the guy props for that. I know that it is still early in the season, and too early to worry about which teams are hot and which teams are not. But still, it would be nice to get a win once in awhile. Add oil guys!
The weather has been quite lovely here in the Bay Area, and I am enjoying not having to bundle up during the day. Everything good always comes to an end, so I guess I better enjoy it while it lasts.
This past weekend we performed at the SF Japantown Cherry Blossom Festival. Supposedly it was our best performance ever. We got a lot of positive comments, and were surprised by the responses. To me, the demo was just like any other performance. It was pretty windy on stage though, so windy in fact, that my sword almost flew out of my hand. But, everyone said I looked really relaxed on stage, and was fluid and graceful. Who would have thought? The whole team did a good job performing, and it was nice to see Ben again.
Man this wind is really killing my allergies. I don’t know where all this wind is coming from? The wind just seems to blow everything right into my nose. I never knew that spring in SF could get this bad. When I was living in Beijing, the Spring would always be like this. In Beijing, you would just walk down the block and get a bunch of sand in your mouth, or eye. Hopefully this wind won’t stick around too long, and by next month it will be less windy.
Well the day has finally come, ha my yes, my cellphone plan is about up. So I can either upgrade and get myself an iPhone 5, or be daring, and switch to an Android phone. My dad and friends seem to like their Android phones, but none of them are Mac users. I am just worried that I won’t be able to sync my phone with my computer. But, after reading some articles online, it should be do-able. I am just so used to using Mac products, that changing to an Android may turn out to be difficult. The iPhone is just so easy to use, that even my mom can use it with her eyes closed. So yeah I can’t decide on what I want to do, I guess I will think about it some more. The HTC One is looking pretty good to me though, and I like the aluminum body, and the big screen. Decisions, decisions.
Is sensationalism in the news media a bad thing? I feel like the US really likes to take advantage of this, and just makes things more dramatic than they need to be .
